ESL film for teachers on PBS May 3 & May 7th

Paper Words recently showed at the California Assn for Bilingual Educators. Teachers loved it! Why? Because it captured the issues of an immigrant family trying to assimilate into a public school system without any multilingual resources. And the audience fell in love with the main character, Mei, a five-year old girl facing culture shock. This is made from the perspective of a family who wants the girl to succeed while retaining their first language at home.
