I asked my mother to ship me over some videos from home to show to the kids in my class, but when they got here they wouldn't work. I thought that videos were universal, but apparently not.

Does anyone know of a good online shopping site for video based in Korea?

Thank you :)

We had a ton of US videos work at my school in Korea, most of which were commercial, and I still have a lot of Korean videos that work here.

My roommate also had a videotape of "That 70's show" from Canada that I used for my classes.

Afaik, VHS works worldwide, unless it's not VHS. Otherwise, I am betting it's a setup problem.

http://www.alkenmrs.com/video/standards.html

"These three main standards are PAL NTSC and SECAM. However, each standard is incompatible with the other. For example, a video recording made in the UK could not be played on US standard VCR's or shown on the TV."

I didn't know you were trying to use UK videos. US videos work fine in Korea.
