Free downloadable video clips?

Post by jimbo12345 » Wed Aug 23, 2006 3:05 am

Hey,

Does anywhere know where i can download short video or audio clips to help teach English? They need to be copyright free.

Thanks!

Ask me the same question a few months ago and I would have great difficulty in answering it. With the advent of Google video and U tube you haven't got a problem. If it's there for free it should be in the public domain.

Now, the problem there is that this is streeming video. If you want to burn a CD, I would suggest trying the site from which it was uploaded. They often have doanloadable files. Prelinger archives is a good site but you will need to know what your software alows you to play.

This is a bit academic for me because I work at a place that requires me to do one video lesson a semester but only has VHS and DVD players and I can't play computer-burnt CDs.

Happy hunting.

Hello jimbo,

I just found some short videos on www.adbusters.com There are 4 or 5 ads and a CNN interview. The ads are on a very controversial subject (consumerism, globalization, etc) so they are topics that people like to talk about.

I was able to download them without difficulty but the quality is not great.
