Need help putting together political discussion class

Post by SmoothCB » Tue Oct 19, 2004 9:21 am

Hi,

I currently teach conversational english to mostly adult students and was wondering if anyone had material, links etc... regarding politics. The class is called a "presentation class" where the students get the assignment before hand then present there findings in class.

Thanks

I think you need to provide more contextual information for this one - particularly when the heading is "putting together a 'political' discussion" - what kind of politcial discussion? why do you want politics to be the theme of the discussions?
.... more info required please :?

As correctly pointed out in the previous reply, you need to supply more details.
I for example teach i n CHINA, and my students range in age from 20 to 22.
Can I ever discuss political issues???

Good question.
Sometimes I can. Sometimes it's tactful to steer clear of such topics.

In any event, I would think of newspapers as the next best resource for topics!

Setting up a topic is always a good idea as our fellows mentioned before.

If you're looking for something more academical you could try

http://www.google.com/scholar

Even though it is still a beta web site it provides people with lots technical & academical material.

Good search!!!
