Hot or cold

Could anyone who has experience of teaching in both Korea and Taiwan advise as to whether the difference in earning potential is great. I want to go to Taiwan as it is warm all year round, however the deals on offer for a 20-30 hour week include only a one-way air fare, no accommodation and half the completion bonus of Korea. I reckon accomodation and utility bills will eat up about one fifth of my monthly salary, so will I be able to make this up by the difference in the cost of living in Taiwan - I believe it's cheaper but my main expense will probably be bottles of beer. Do you think the reduced salary is aptly countered by the improved weather and - so I've heard -friendlier culture? And also which country provides the most opportunity for teaching lucrative "privates".

Any advice much appreciated.
