Hi!
I have a student who needs to improve his English quite quickly and who has time in the car everyday to use an audio supplement. Can anyone recommend some CDs he can buy? He needs to improve primarily grammar in spoken English, so something with drills would be best. Of course general comprehension would also be useful. He's an intermediate but with lots of bad habits, never having spoken English before.
Thanks!

Hi there ...
I believe it will do him little benefit if he listens and repeats, especially if has never spoken English before as you mentioned. He might be able to recignize certain structures later, but it will take him long before he's able to use them naturally. Whatever he hears and repeats will not be internalized unless meaningfully used. He has to get engaged in conversations ...
He can simply listen to the radio and report back to you. Decide on a certain hour where both of you will be listening to the same program so that you know what he'll be talking about.
Good luck
