Just wondering if you think that the hokey pokey is OK to use in an adult classroom to reinforce parts of the body, right, left, etc. I know that this is great to use with kids, I just don't want to insult my adults.
Opinions anyone? What other simple songs are great for reinforcing vocab?
Ah, and I was thinking too that "Hokey Pokey" is part of American culture ...
I have done stuff like that with adults, but it was used as an ice breaker. I definitely think you could and should do it, but I would adapt the activity for regular use.
I teach English teachers in China. One of the things I do as an ice breaker is Hokey Pokey. They are shy but love it. I was ask to speak at several schools and guess what all the children and teachers want to do! They love it.
