The communicative approach gives emphasis on spoken English. It is concerned with smoothness in speaking or fluency, not with correctness in grammar and pronunciation. In this approach, teachers encourage their students to speak a lot in the target language. The teachers don't correct the mistakes of the students. The teachers' tasks are to prepare topics and questions for speaking and make students speak.

The communicative apporach is very successful for extroverts, but not for introverts. Another disandvatage is that the students' proficiency in grammar and pronunciation is very low.

I don't recommend pure 100% comunicative approach. When students speak, the just practice what they already know, but they don't leran anything new. I believe they should also learn something like grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. They should also be corrected so that they will learan form their mistakes. Finally they also acquire many aspects of the language through listening and reading.

I felt uncomfortanle with the pure 100% communicative approach. I feel I have to teach something like vocabulary, grammar and corrections. I also feel they should listen and read a lot in addition to speaking.
