Summarising a lesson

Post by mabote » Thu Jun 08, 2006 7:05 pm

Hi, i need help on how a summary is done at the end of a lesson. What are the things that i have to do or remember to have a good summary as a teacher?

It's like this:

Introduction = Telling them what you are going to tell them

The lesson = Telling them.

Summary = Telling them what you told them.

So tell them what you are going to tell them, then tell them, and then tell them what you told them.

A summary is a short recap of what you taught them.

One way to summarize a lesson is to prepare a table, chart or diagram that the students will fill up. Another way is for students to organize the lesson into a list or outline. A third way is for students to fill up the blanks of sentences stating the main concepts or rules.
