D.U.I. on record & Taiwan

Last month I was charged with drinking and driving, my first criminal offense. Will this preclude me from obtaining a teaching position in Taiwan?

Have you posted this on the China pages, you may get a better response.

Not Taiwan but PRC.
In Shanghai I would only bother if it affected your visa. This we would leave to the visa authorities. I cannot remeber having to declare any criminal record on visa application.

you could try posting this enquiry on www.asiaexpat.com they have a page for taiwan and a carreer/visa *beep* section.
