They are high school students who come to study conversation with me in the evening at a Hakwon (an English accademy in Korea).
Like me - they are not the brightest bunch. They obviously have a certain level of english proficency, not only because they study at school. But they have not got much confidence particularly, perhaps, as I kind of gave up on them last time..so they want to practice their english, but what can I do with them? We have so little in common, they know nothing of the world really and aren't interested in what they do know...
Kids games patronise them. Performing on front of their peers is often such a let down to half the class who just don't try..

Vocabulary building is boring.. They just do the short-cut on everything. ...
Am trying to think contructively:
What will they use it for? - not sure/nothing
What materials have you got - we have one of those stupid 'welcome to civilsation' type textbooks from america designed for immigrants..
Might try to wizz through that to raise their confidence, play some games.. f**k it what else is there?
They like games but I kind of ran out...
Ahhh - can't think!
