Hello one and all my name is Elizabeth aka Ember and I just got my first teaching job ever. I will start teaching ESL to adults next month and I am a bit (more than a bit) overwhelmed. One of the books I will be using is the Oxford Picture Dictionary and from what I can see it is great so far. I want my class to be fun as well as educational and do you have any recomondations of any kind as to how on earth to get started? I will have a small class of about 12 students all from Puerto Rico. Thanks in advance and I am going to look around and read some posts now.
Bright Blessings
Ember

			You are most welcome, Elizabeth!

Starting off by reading what's gone on before shows us all what an enlightened person you are. I wish more newbies were like you!

Thanks! I just hope to be able to teach I am very nervous!

I am also thinking about having day one as an introduction see where they are coming from and hopefully determine how well they speak and understand English.
