Pregnancy lessons?

Post by glemley » Wed May 20, 2009 10:05 pm

I teach adults at the mid-beginner level. One student in my smaller class (only three students, all women) is pregnant and would like to be able to ask the doctor questions without her husband always present. Does anybody know about easy lessons or easy readers dealing with pregnancy? The only things I've found deal with teen pregnancy and this woman is an adult in a stable relationship. She just wants information. I can give her some, but it would be nice to give her some written material. I don't want to create it if somebody else has already.

I don't know of any ESL books, but _What To Expect When You're Expecting_ is the pregnancy bible of North America. It has quite a few pictures and short sections, so you could help her through the basic parts.
