Teaching an Elderly Couple

Post by evanhenrique » Fri May 10, 2013 1:00 am

I've got a new and really challenging task. I will start teaching an elderly couple here in Brazil. They've been abroad a number of times and have good listening and reading skills. They have difficulties with pronunciation and overcoming their shyness, though. Has anybody had a similar story? Do you guys have any tips?

Stop labeling them as elderly or it will colour your lessons and attitude. After 25, it all the same. What would you do with a "young" couple?

Usually shy people warm up with a relaxed, supportive and fun atmosphere.

For pronunciation activities check out Lorikeet's posts.
