help with teaching conversation to Japanese girls

Post by angelasaeki » Thu Mar 04, 2004 12:59 pm

Hello, I just agreed to teach a small conversation class once a week for an hour. I don't know much about the class yet, except that it will vary between 2-6 Japanese students, mostly ladies in their 20's at a false-beginner level. All of my experience is with teaching private students, mostly adult men, one on one. I haven't taught a group of ladies before, so I'm looking for good teaching ideas. I would appreciate any fun ideas you all have, especially about what to do on the first day for breaking the ice, introductions etc. Thanks in advance for helping! :)

Forgot to add that the students already know each other (I think) it is just me who will be new, taking over for their previous teacher.
