Message: Hello,
Would like some feedback!
Am starting to do business English, general at first in France, they have some basic English.
First time going into a company, have been doing mainly one to one students for 18months.
Am thinking about doing class around general topics, eg "catching a flight", doing brainstorming around the topic and building up sentences, then explaining some grammar rules in context.
What do you think of this approach?
Any ideas would be appreciated, good or bad!

Hi Marie,

I have taught a lot of business classes in Korea. Your idea seems like it will work out fine. I would also recommend adding 'creating questions' to your lesson.
-You can make your own questions before the class that revolve around the topic, and
-you can also have your student try and create questions around the topic.
-you can use these questions for discussion at the end of your lesson
-I would then use the same questions as a review at the beginning of your next lesson as a review.

Here is a link to my websites 'Teacher Resource' page. There are a few good resources (other sites) that offer great material for ESL teaching to adults.

I think the last resource (Teaching ESL to Adults) would be best for your situation.

Hope this helps:)
