Hi all! Can someone tell me about their university classes~how they were set up, what books were used, how many students, how many hours. I'm hearing stories about freshman conversation classes with 90 students. If it's true, how do you handle it? Thanks for the help. --babo

Students in my K university range from 10 - 35, but situations do arrive with lecture hall sized classes. You can still do pair work, and a square of 4 chairs group work, and the more there are, the more valid repeat-after-me becomes, in my book. In any case, small classes in Korea can have some reluctance to engage with the usual communicative methodology.
The books are usually the typical stuff - headway, interchange and gateways seem common. 3 hours a week is about average here.
The challenges are many, but expectations are perhaps low.
