English Lunches!
I've been asked by the manager of a local company, where I am working in France, to run English classes over lunch for some of his employees in order that they can improve their English. It will be a mixed group, from lower intermediate up to advanced. I'm wondering whether anyone had any experience organising something like this, did they prepare factsheets, themes, or should I just perpare each lunch as it came? Any help would be much appreciated!

I did this every day as the only English speaker in the facility. I sat at a particular table and people could drop in as they liked and talk or not talk as the liked. It was a discussion of local topics or topics from the news as you would do with any friends over lunch. The only thing was that I didn't eat so could keep the conversation flowing, asking questions, probing, providing the odd word that they couldn't remember or would be appropriate. The more advanced can translate words that the others get stuck on to keep things going. Lots of humour helps of course and lots and lots of encouragement. Bringing up points that people said the day or week before makes them feel really special. Just be a good friend and listen a lot.
