I have about two years teaching experience and will be attending SIT in Vermont this fall to get my Masters in Teaching ESL, and wanted to know if anyone can give me some insight on what colleges and universities are looking for when hiring new ESL faculty. I am going for my ESL Generalist Masters, as opposed to a Masters with a K-12 certification. Can anyone tell me which is more marketable? I really only want to teach adults. If anyone is out there who has graduated from SIT and found work in the United States, could you please give me some advice? I want to be as marketable as possible to colleges. Or anyone who has their Masters from any university, your advice is invaluable too. Thank you so much!
