Dear All ...
I've been teaching now for two years and I guess I should have started that earlier. I'd like to work on my "teacher portfolio" (is that what you'd call it?)
I haven't seen any but I believe I should keep:
- sample lesson plans
- observation documents
- ???
Any suggestion as to what else may go into it?

How about a statement of your teaching philosophy? Examples of work of your students? Notes from parents? Pictures? Many of the teachers in our courses at Carleton made a web page which seems to be a more up-to-date way to showcase your talents and abilities. Have you written any academic papers, contributed to Teacher Magazines, or done any research? Have you designed a curriculum? Do you have a mentor who could contribute a reference? A co-teacher? Your principal? What other organizations do you belong to related to teaching? What courses have you taken and what additional courses after your main training? What recent books have your read about your field? What chat lines do you read and contribute to?

Always include a brilliant -Scheme of Work- preferably on-line and interactive for student use. Where necessary, make sure that it is cross referenced to any Curriculum you are using.
Observation feedback sheets are a must ( good ones )
and student surveys on teaching and learning.
