Adult ESL Halloween/Day of the Dead lesson plan

Post by Dudette » Tue Oct 25, 2005 8:00 pm

Hello, all -

I'm looking for ideas/suggestions re an adult lesson plan for Halloween/Day of the Dead that is cohesive, fun, but not insulting to adults (all native Spanish speakers).

Thank you for any input you would be willing to provide!

Right now I am having my classes write scary stories. Stories about experiences that were scary for them. I have stories like car accidents, strange people at the door, people appearing in the bed room(boogeymen!). Then the students share or exchange the stories. These were middle schoolers, but I would think you could do it with adults.

We made the stories into a book. The students decided to call it "The Face of the Scream" and I took an image of Edvard Munch's "The Scream" and put their title on it. They enjoyed it.
