first of all my special thanks to "fluffyhamser" for answering my question and I'd be very grateful if fluffyhamster sent me the posts he/she mentioned

Then a question about quantifiers;

"During the second half of the seventeeth century, the Dutch were exporting ......... beer, but ............ beer was still imported"
a)some/much
b)no/none of the
c)a lot of /some of
d)much/none of
e)a number of / several

In my opinion the answer is "a" because "some" needs a determiner like "the" "these" or "my" if it is used with "of" But in the anwer key the answer is "c"
Do you have an interpretation on this question?

Your intuitions are correct. Presumably the "correct" (c) answer is due to multiple misprints, or it could simply be the sloppy work of somebody who really shouldn't be writing test items.
