Has anyone ever taught a mixed level class? I may have to do this in August and any tips or advice would be welcome.

Thanks,
Phil

My advice is don't do it.

I've taught a class with different levels, although not by design - if the levels are far apart you'll either:

1. Bore to death the higher level students, or
2. Completely lose the lower level students, or
3. Move forward really slowly, gradually making everyone frustrated.

The only way to avoid this is to prepare separate activities for each level, perhaps based on the same material. In effect you'll have to write 2 or more lesson plans depending on the number of different levels. A lot of extra work, for what?
