As for your reply, i feel confused about your opinion of tips in english teaching methods. And I am new to the situation of teaching in foreign countries, so i think maybe the environment there in your area is all around native language students need, but conversely, what the Chinese students they want is not more than piles of reading and listening materials, and most of their tasks in school are just guided to grasp all the vocabularies, phrases and grammar, etc. aiming to get the best marks in the final exams.
Though each of them study hard to pursue their career, i'm not sure if they can bring all the useful knowledge into full play. At present, what we worry about is not the knowledge itself, I think, but the functioning itself matters.
There's still a big problem here, and which i think is quite the opposite side of what you mentioned before. If they're offered enough chance to speak out, Maybe we won't have any lanuage training institutions to make up what they lack.
In my opinon, reading and listening are acquiring procedure from the very beginnng to even the advanced language study. And the basic skills are never more than enough to make something alive.
