Penmanship for adults

Currently, I have many students who struggle with writing the English alphabet. Their quality of penmanship doesn't bother me; however, I would like for them to be able to write faster, as they want to as well. Specifically, these students are from Arabic-speaking countries, as well as Somalia.
Does anybody know of any good penmanship practice activies/ drills for adults? Preferrably, some that wouldn't be degrading to the students. I don't want them to think that I'm 'treating them like children' by giving them penmanship exercises. Any good websites that I can print or download stuff from would be particularly helpful. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried dictating SHORT STORIES in simplified English? You can dictate the whole (I have books that have stories of about 40 lines' length), or you can cut uff before the end and leave the task of writing a suitable end to your learners.
This way, they get acquainted with the diction of native speakers, and they can develop their imagination.
I do that with Chinese college students - same problem: can't write any one sentence without a major slipup!

For my native Farsi-speaking student, I found it helpful to use vocabulary lists that I printed using a D'Nealian font I found on the web. I also had her use a second-grade manuscript book for vocab. practice. It helped isolate those letters she was forming from "creative" starting points . . . and establish the rules about relative size of letters in manuscript form.
