Language skills related task

Hi, i'm in a CELTA coruse and i have to design a skills lesson for a group of learners. My group of learners are very very+ weak. All of them are Indians and i have a hard time understanding what thery're saying , but they're very nice . I have to use either authentic or supplementary material for reading and listening. I'm not sure what to use, i was told to try and base it on something we did in class, which was There is/are, Like,enjoy...+(ING) COOKING, drinking, gets up......!
i was wondering if any experienced teachers would know Thanks
