I agree with you. Songs can be effectively applied to language teaching and learning. They can not only increase levels of motivation, but can also make students more focused. The activities designed are able to incorporate four language skills into teaching and learning, so if handled properly, adding some songs occasionally to teaching class does good to language learning. But be careful when choose a song, it should be grammatically correct and meet the current language proficiency of the students. Otherwise it may not achieve the expected effect.

Also, never, ever force anyone over the age of 9 to sing themselves. Either pick the kind of stuff you know they would want to sing, or satisfy yourself with exposing them to the music.

At some degree, I agree with you. However, I have to say there is little difficult for me to listen to the songs clearly and fully. What do you think of it? It 's really hard at the first time for us to follow the song. We'd better to repeat again and again. What do you think of it?[/b]

I've been learning Spanish and the songs are very helpful, also children's books. It helps to remember words when they're organized into rhyming couplets and what-not!
