New to all this

Hello one and all my name is Elizabeth aka Ember and I just got my first teaching job ever. I will start teaching ESL to adults next month and I am a bit (more than a bit) overwhelmed. One of the books I will be using is the Oxford Picture Dictionary and from what I can see it is great so far. I want my class to be fun as well as educational and do you have any recomondations of any kind as to how on earth to get started? I will have a small class of about 12 students all from Puerto Rico. Thanks in advance and I am going to look around and read some posts now.

Bright Blessings
Ember :D

You are most welcome, Elizabeth! :D Starting off by reading what's gone on before shows us all what an enlightened person you are. I wish more newbies were like you!

Thanks! I just hope to be able to teach I am very nervous! :) I am also thinking about having day one as an introduction see where they are coming from and hopefully determine how well they speak and understand English. :P
