Any suggestions of a good story or good short stories for reading to new adults students to help with their listening skills ?

My idea is to read e.g. one page (?) on each lesson.

Thanks out there !

Morgan & Rinvolucri's Once upon a Time: Using Stories in the Language Classroom (CUP) is a good place to start.

(I kinda like more quirky stories!).
