WHY CAN WE SAY:
I,M PHONING TO SPEAK TO YOU...AND NOT
I AM PHONING FOR SPEAKING TO YOU ?

BOTH ARE TELLING US THE PURPOSE OF THE SPEAKING SO WHY CANNOT TH SECOND ONE BE USED? THANKS

Okay one more try and I'm done. You yelled the exact same question in the thread just below this one, which I answered as politely as I could at the time in. http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/teacher/v ... .php?t=921

The link in my answer has a long discussion on this subject. Resubmitting the same question with different vocabulary doesn't really achieve much. And all capitals is a pain.
