Education question...

Post by jslentz » Sat May 30, 2009 2:28 am

Hi! I am an currently an ESL teacher in Malawi. I have a certificate from a 60 hour course that I completed. I love teaching English, but feel like the course was not comprehensive enough. I am wondering if any of you know of reputable courses, colleges, etc. that would help my further my education. Is a degree in Education the best option, or are there degrees actually offered specifically for ESL? I haven't been able to find any info that doesn't seem contradictive. Any suggestions??!! Thanks for reading this!

Things are probably contradictory because every state (and country) and school probably has their own idea. There are many programs in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language. I know there is one by me, at San Francisco State University, but there are programs in many places.
