Thai English Ed. majors looking for pals

Post by ajdanuru » Wed Jan 18, 2006 3:27 am

I'm currently teaching a university writing course in a Thai university.
I have a class of 43 students (age 19-20) who are learning how to write emails, letters, postcards, advertisements, etc. in this introductory course.
Their writing skills are at a pre-intermediate to intermediate level.

Thai students are patently shy, so they need a bit of a push to get into communications of this sort.
I'd love to find a group of students in another country (preferrably outside of Asia) for my students to write to.
Our term is finished in late February, so this wouldn't be a strictly organized project as some other (better-prepared?) teachers have advertised on this forum.
I'd simply like to motivate these students to write by offering them the exciting prospect of comunicating with someone from another culture.

After an initial letter exchange or 2, students could continue with their communications by any means they wish (letters, email, messaging).

Do you have a class that would be interested in writing to Thai students?

Kawp koon krap!
