Mistreated Whiteboards

Post by Andrew Patterson » Tue May 18, 2004 6:14 pm

I've just come across a problem again that I hadn't had for a while. I've just started teaching a course in a company and their whiteboard is in a terrible state. I think someone used acetone or some other solvent to clean it and although I am using a proper whiteboard marker, it won't rub off properly.

Does anyone know of any products that can be used to put the surface back if someone has done this to a whiteboard?

While I'm on the subject, water is usually enough to get the mark of a permanent marker off unless it has been left for too long. If it's been left, it's another matter. Any suggestions on that one. I've heard of people using a mild scouring cream but I think that would scratch the surface.
