I was planning to do a DELTA in Madrid at International House, but they say lack of interest in the course meant they no longer teach it. I have heard of other instutes that have also stopped doing the DELTA for the same reasons. Does anyone know why this is happening? Are more people going for MAs in TESOL these days? Is the DELTA not as widely recognised in Universities around the world as MAs are?

Yes, I suspect that people are simply jumping ahead to do a more substantial qualification, as more and more become better and better qualified (and how many adverts do you see that say 'need an MA, or DELTA'?). I also have a sneaking suspicion that, if other people are anything like me, dissatisfaction with the CELTA might be putting people off of the whole RSA approach. Why should they have the monopoly, or the last word, in what makes for "good" training?
