Tools for the next-generation TOEFL

Post by mangoman » Tue Jun 03, 2003 4:58 pm

School/Institute Directors:

Please note that ETS (Educational Testing Service), makers of the TOEFL (tm), is currently introducing two new products - LanguEdge & Criterion - to help students, instructors, universities and language schools adequately prepare for the next-generation TOEFL. The TOEFL will measure all 4 communication skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) via an Internet-based exam; the test (and score results) will be offered to students in July, 2004 and binding results will be mailed to institutions in July, 2005.

These two products are the *only* products to include authentic TOEFL material. LanguEdge is a multimedia instructional software program using real-world language in academic settings to help practice and assess English ability. Criterion is an online essay-writing evaluation service, permitting you to receive immediate feedback and holistic score.

You can read the press releases at http://www.toefl.org and http://www.ets.org. For student questions about taking the exam in Mexico, write to [email protected]. Institutions interested in the authorized ETS products should contact me about sales and special offers.
