www.lessonplanscanada.com has three levels of "The Story of Basketball" lesson plans - and one of them is a free sample (Level 3, grade 7 reading level). These are great if you have young people in your class who are interested in sports! There is Canadian content - after all, the inventor of the game was a Canadian, but they are generic in the sense that they can be used anywhere.
