I will be teaching in Mexico and the school wants me to "legalize" my CELTA. Does anyone know what this means exactly? Thanks!

Could it mean an official translation of your certificate? That's my best bet.
Why don't you ask them what they mean by it?

I had been waiting for their response to my question and *finally* got an answer: legalize means notarize. Thanks for your response.

Do a search for 'legalize' over on the international Job Discussion forums (you could also try 'notarize' too!).

You need to take your documents and make a copy that you have notarized. Then you take your copied, notarized documents to get apostilled. An apostille makes your document legal internationally. You have to get the apostille in your state at the secretary of state. In Oregon, where I am from, it costs about 20 dollars for each item. Note: you only have to give the school a notarized "copy" that is apostilled. Keep your originals!

I was gonna say also search for 'apostilled', but didn't want to give the impression I knew or cared much about the procedures in Mexico. Hopefully there isn't "coffeecup-stamping" or "grubbyfingermarking" involved on top of all that's already been mentioned!
