Hi, just wanted to drop some advice to all so you dont get royally screwed as I did.
I have taught at this school for 5 months now and finished my term on Friday afternoon and began my one month holiday for the Spring Festival. My boss called me on Sunday night at 10pm and told me I was fired and to get out of my house by tomorrow. He would not tell me why and claimed that he suddenly could not speak English.
I had to go to the office the next day to speak with him and to get my salary which he had not paid me on the 15th. He basically has used me and now that the term is over wants to get rid of me so he doesnt have to pay me for the holiday, extend my visa and pay me flight reimbursement when my contract ends in March.
He has refused to give me my month and a half salary that he owes me for work in Dec. and Jan. I have threatened to sue him but this does not seem to sink into his head. He continues to try to make up reasons that I broke the contract, like last year before you ever signed the contract you disagreed with my teaching plan that is in my head, so you have broken the contract.
anyway, i could go on for ever but I wont. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up and if anyone has any advice or has had a similar problem, it would be great to hear from you.
dont work for The English Campus of Shijiazhuang in China
Moderators: Dimitris, maneki neko2, Lorikeet, Enrico Palazzo, superpeach, cecil2, Mr. Kalgukshi2
Maybe they can help
Here's a site that claims to be able to help in instances of contract violations, but I've never used them, nor have I seen on their site any "testimonials" about their competency level and ability to get anything done.

Maybe if you're hacked enough you could give them a try and let us all here know about how it went there?
Just a suggestion.

Hey,
I was screwed in a way by the English campus too but not by Mr. Li. If you were just released this january then would that mean you came in over the summer but I don't remember you, unless you're actually Justin and using a different name. If you did come in over the summer then you must have been working for David and not Mr. Li because I know for a fact that aside from a few words Mr. Li speaks no English. David screws everyone, everyone hates him and he doesn't give a rats ass about the teachers unfortunate enough to work for him. Make no mistake though, I would gladly go back and work there again if the chance came about.
But if you didn't work there starting in the summer of 05 then you must be the John I heard about in stories from other teachers and I heard a bit a of a different story. I'm not choosing any sides, but what you're saying is different from what I heard and what I experienced.
I won't go into details but I will say that Mr. Li really looked out for me while I was working there and even after I was terminated I was given a week to move out (a week I spent sharing my flat with a couple of attractive filipinas) and given all the salary I was owed. I was not basically kicked to the curb like you seem to have been. Unless you're otherwise talking about the previous owner Allison, whom I have no experience with.
Again, I'm not choosing sides, I just want some clarification as to who you are talking about was the boss.
