Hello Everybody,
I don't like writing negative things about others so I will start on a positive note.
I received my TEFL certificate from ITTO over a year ago. The one month intensive course is really worth it! It is comprehensive and the instructors are excellent!
The problem came after graduation. The director had told us during our exit interview that we should think of ITTO as "our home" and that if we needed anything at all that we should just ask.
Their guaranteed placement in Mexico worked, but soon after arriving at my job the director at the school where i was working, who had promised to help me with my work visa, told me that i wasn't going to get a work visa and that I should be happy because i wasn't being taxed. Not to mention i was working illegally in Mexico! I assumed that ITTO would only deal with reputable programs.
I changed schools and found a very good job, thankfully.
The next issue with ITTO came when I was applying for another teaching job in another country. For the new job i needed a letter a reference from an instructor on ITTO's letterhead. As I had scored high 9 on for my average grade and was top in my class I figured this would not be a problem. Besides, I considered ITTO as my home.
Well, they have refused to give me the letter I requested! I managed to get the references that I needed, but the main problem now is the school only gives lip service to support after graduation, which makes me think that they only care about getting you in and out.
good luck to all, best wishes to all

reference letter on paper with letterhead
Dear all,
When you find yourself in dire straits because you are treatly badly in a school my advice is: simply take away a few sheets of paper with letterhead and write your own letter of reference, writing nothing but the truth about your capacities and experience!
