Is Jobs4Teachers.org reputable?

I received an email from jobs4teachers.org, applied online and then received an email accepting my application.

They then sent me to a link asking for a $100 application fee. I have never seen an application fee for jobs I've applied for in Asia.

Are these people reputable? By the way, the salary seems to good to be true, $4,900 dollars monthly + accomodation and return airfare.

Thanks for replying,
p

I don't know about jobs4teachers directly, but a few observations:

Are such wages possible in the Middle East? Yes. However, most of them require a higher level of certification and experience. The fact that several of them say no experience needed is very questionable to me. Also, remember that Dubai is a very high cost city to live in - similar to London.

The teaching load they are advertising is incredibly heavy. The lightest load shown is 30, which is a lot of class hours in one week (remember you are still going to have to do class prep, so you have many more hours worked than the actual teacher student time) while some showed teaching loads of 45/week. Yikes!

The airfare is reimbursement after you finish your contract. So if you have to fly there on your own dime, then if you find it is a bad place and are forced to leave early, you are on the hook for all transportation.

The final thing is that many shady places will lead in with a few high-paying jobs - then say "Oh! those are taken! But we still have these jobs that pay $1,200/month."

Personally, if they were offering these high paying jobs, they should be earning enough fees from thei clients that they have no need to cut down on their potential applicant database by charging such a large upfront "fee." However many job search organizations, even established ones like ISS charge fees, so it is hard to tell.

Good luck.

Thank You

If they can pay you $4,900 a month, they certainly do not need $100,- for application? Do not trust these people!
