Hello
This is just a short note ( to teachers and others interested in language development ) to let you know about Word Surfing, a concept that encourages students to use vocabulary learning techniques together with well-organized and personal notebooks. Sample pages from such a book can be printed out at
http://www.wordsurfing.co.uk/index2.html
Hopefully you will find the concept interesting - and would like to have it available to your students. It seems that most of them need a motivating and useful resource to help them with their vocabulary development. Word Surfing simply aims to offer one such opportunity.
I've recently put the idea on a website, and am now sending e-mails to people such as yourself. By the way, I'm also looking for new contributors at the moment, so if anyone would like to -
i) have their own vocabulary learning tips put on the site.
ii) submit an article on pronunciation, dictionary use, learner autonomy or motivation.
iii) make any other comments/suggestions
... I'd be very glad to hear from them. Any other comments or suggestions would also be really appreciated - as would feedback from students who are using the idea.
Thanks for your time.
Best wishes.
Will McCulloch
