Parallel : omission of the overlapping part?

Post by heyiamhere » Wed Sep 07, 2005 1:35 pm

Can I omit overlapping parts in parallel structure?

1. Salting has been uses to season as well as (to) preserve food

2. I can go there not only by bus but also (by) train

3. I can go there by bus as well as (by) train

Thanks

How about this?

1. Salting has been uses (to) season as well as to preserve food

2. I can go there not only (by) bus but also by train

3. I can go there (by) bus as well as by train

Thanks
