methods in translate teaching wanted

I'm a graduate major in English Teaching. I'd like to know some interesting and effecient methods in translate

teaching. Does anyone have any idea willing to share with me? I'd appreciate every much.

Becuase in my country all the students major in English have some translating courses. Students are asked to translate English sentences or articles into Chinese and vice versa. I don't think such a course attracting. Some students even feel it boring. Therefore I'd like to know some different teaching methods or technics which can attract students and stir up their interest. And any effecient teaching methods are also welcome. Thank Tara B for helping me clarify my question.

The only thing I can say is try to make it authentic. Choose texts that would actually need to be translated for some reason, perhaps English literature so that Chinese people could enjoy it, relevant current events from a newspaper, or a menu for a restaurant? Or, depending on your students' proficiency level, you can also translate the same text for different audiences.

I know that these people are training to be teachers, not translaters, but as professional translators, they would only be translating from English into Chinese. You should let them know of the dangers of translating into English, if you haven't already. . .

Translating can be fun if you're a language nerd, and it sounds like your students might be. . .
