Post by cftranslate » Wed May 24, 2006 10:24 pm

Which of the following is heard and said by natives speakers:

a) We had a chance of engaging in real communication.
a) We had a chance to engage in real communication.

Thanks.

Hi cftranslate

You can say either, but are you aware that the sentences have different meanings?

No, I am not. What's the difference?

A Google search resulted in am overwhelming occurrence frequency in favor or "engage to".
