This poll reminds me of a Myers-Briggs personality test. There are no answers that match my opinion. However, I think a poll about private vs. public EFL schools could be useful, but the answers would have to be modified. For example, some alternative answers might be as follows.
1. Profit based schools are more efficient in identifying what students actually want from classes. They are not as encumbered by bureaucratic policies.
2. If a business is successful, they must be doing something right. They may have significant problems, but enrollments and profits are the best measures of a school's effectiveness.
3. Profit based schools could work if they were run cooperatively by the teachers. It's management policies that cause problems.
4. Profit based schools do not serve the interests of students or teachers. They should be regulated by the government and / or made accountable to teachers' unions to solve this problem.
5. The results are actually about the same. The students and teachers at any school determine the learning experience, regardless of how they are managed.
I question the assumption that public schools are student centered. None of the public schools that I've worked for were student centered, although several liked to say they were. My experience is that both private and public schools exploit teachers and mislead parents about services. You've also got to ask why adult students would choose a private school over a public institution. Prettier female teachers maybe?
