When I first entered ESLcafe I came to ask a grammar question. I think this has to be typical of ESLcafe visitors.
However, I took me a few seconds to know where exactly to post my question.
Most of the posts are actually usage questions and the name of the forum is misleading and not appropriate for the content of the posts. I think this is pretty obvious (Also, the extra long name is not correctly indented and is aesthetically ugly).
With best wishes.
Thanks
May I suggest achange of the forum title to Usage Questions?

I was kind of thinking the same thing myself recently - that this "Applied Linguistics" forum is dominated by questions concerning usage. Perhaps a change of name could be helpful, then...but people will soon work out what it's all about (as you yourself, CFT, have done), and might be put off if we called it "Usage" instead; besides, the previous and present discussion that has arisen from considering "acceptable" usage has sometimes lead into (an at least implicit) consideration of wider issues and areas, so perhaps "Applied Linguistics" is, in fact, reasonably apt?
