It's not often that I ask for help....this one is simply because I don't remember. My mother often said something like:
If ---- were ---- then we'd ----
If wishes were fishes we'd all have some fried.
The last missing word would have to rhyme with "fried" and it comes to mind:
If if onlies were ponies we'd all take a ride.
If anyone remembers this little second (?) conditional saying, could they jot it in in this thread? And if no one knows it, how about making up first lines? Only rule I see is the rhyme with "fried". Could be fun....
If mabies were babies then we'd've heard that they'd cried
If pity were witty, we'd all have to abide
If sorries were lorries we'd all have a drive. (near rhyme that one....)
