Oh dear Andrew, I was unclear. The distinction I did not see was the so-called difference between "used to" and "would" using nostalgia, not between nostalgia and reminiscence. (And people wonder how threads go off on tangents. ;) )

Tangents are defined as the ratio of the length of the line opposite one of the non-right angles in a right angled triangle divided by the length of the line adjacent to it. They are related to sines and cosines. :P
