Forensic Linguistics: Advances in Forensic Stylistics - Hardcover (Mar. 28, 2002) by Gerald R. McMenamin
comes to the conclusion that the Jonbenet Ramsey's parents did not write the ransom note using forensic linguistic stylistics.
This conclusion is at serious odds with other evidence, like handwriting.
A related question is Donald Foster's Forensic linguistics
Have you read or are you familar with McMenamin's work and how definitive is his conclusion? He looked at stylistic markers in Patsy and John's historical exemplars, and the ransom note, such as spacing, misspellings, punctuation, and concludes, against handwriting evidence, that Patsy and John Ramsey did NOT write the ransom note.
One obvious objection is that Gerald uses Colorado writers to establish frequency of stylistic markers, but Patsy is originally from West Viginia.
