There's a lesson in The New Headway Elementary called 'The lady who lives on a plane.'

I've talked to an American who teaches EFL here in Brazil and she said that one can also use in with bus, plane, train...

What do you say?

I have no idea how the lady is living on a plane instead of in a house or apartment or something.....

For me, I use "on" with anything you can stand up in:

He is staying on the boat. She's on the bus. He's on the plane.

But: They are in the taxi. She's in the car.

That said, I can also say, "He's in the bus." if I mean inside as opposed to outside, but normally I would say, "He's on the bus." to mean he's traveling.
